Reference your P/Pension/l of the 30th. April,

I beg to inform you that I have been in the Service of the Solicitors Department, Inland Revenue, since January 15th.

1913.

The reason why I signed the declaration form was because on previous forms this part of the form was crossed out, and I was under the impression that as long as my salary here and pension together was not more than the salary I was getting in Hongkong that everything was alright. I was seconded for Service in the Army during the War and rejoined the Inland Revenue after peace was declared. Even as I am situated now I find it very hard to live decently on what I get, I have a wife and 5 children, and cost of living education etc. comes very high. Trusting no interference will happen regarding my present position or my pension.
